STUDENTS, PARENTS AND CARERS INVITED TO ONLINE YEAR 11 CAREERS AND SKILLS FAIR

Year 11 students and their parents and carers are invited to join the York and North Yorkshire Careers and Skills event at 6pm on 28th January. Click HERE to register for this event which will:

• highlight key skills that transfer across a huge range of different careers and opportunities
• showcase key sectors and explore the breadth of possibility within the world of work – people gain experience, opportunities and jobs in thousands of different ways
• Inspire and create positivity in young people’s careers prospects.

This event also aims to build upon the recent ‘Shape Your Future’ Guide that was developed in partnership with York, North Yorkshire LEP, Careers and Enterprise Company, FutureHY. City of York Council and Aspire IGen, to support young people to make informed choices about education, training and career opportunities available in York and North Yorkshire and assist them in navigating the pathways available to them to support their successful futures. Liz Mannion, Careers Leader, said: “We really appreciate NYBEP putting on this virtual event to support Year 11 students with their Post-16 options”.

Local employers such as, NHS, FERA, LNER, Kier Construction, Nestlé as well as representatives from the Maritime industry and many more have signed up to support and have produced a range of short videos around careers and skills in health and social care, science and engineering, construction, transport and logistics and the creative and digital sector and much more.
