We attach great importance to the provision of meals in our school. We run our own
in-house catering and ensure that our meals are always healthy and balanced. Where possible most of the food is sourced locally and we use fresh, local produce whenever we can.
We have a dedicated team who work hard to produce a wide variety of meals for both students and staff and all of our food is cooked fresh each day.
The school operates a 'cashless system' for school meals. You may send in a cheque or use 'ParentPay' to pay for students' meals online. 'ParentPay' also allows you to check your balance and to see what a student is eating. A letter with full details on how to access ParentPay will be issued to you when your child starts our school. Students can use cash to top up their balance via the revaluation machine in school.
Due to the current situation our menus will be limited and there will be no breakfast club at this time.
A TYPICAL DAY
Students can start off the day in our 'Early Bird's Breakfast Club', which is open between 8.00am and 8.30am every morning. Our menu includes;
Hot and cold drinks
At Break, we offer a range of freshly prepared hot snacks, including;
Cheesy garlic bread
Mini-melts and oven baked rostis
We also serve a range of drinks and snacks including fresh fruit pots, yoghurts and dried fruit bags.
At Lunchtime, we offer a wide range of freshly prepared food items, which include our daily hot meals selection, paninis and baked potatoes.
There is a range of drinks and snacks to suit every taste and, to give the students extra value for money, we also offer a wide range of 'Meal-Deals'.
We hold regular 'Theme Days' for the students and involve our suppliers, who donate items for tasting sessions and prizes for competitions for the students.
The department also offers a wide range of hospitality, which is available both on site and for outside events. If you require any further information please contact our Catering Manager, Mrs Anthea Harris.
Free school meals
i am entitled to a free meal, how does it work?
Students in receipt of free school meals are given an allocation of £2.40 per day, which cannot be carried over, ie if it is not spent on a particular day, it effectively disappears. £2.40 is the price of a Meal Deal which incorporates a selected hot main course and dessert. Students can only use their daily allocation at lunch time. A daily limit can be set up on individual accounts to prevent overspending. Please contact the school if this is something you would like to consider. Parents can top up their child’s account to ensure there is a buffer in the event that a child wants to spend more than £2.40 each day or purchase a snack at break time, or of course, a snack could be sent in from home for break time.
