The Year 7 Warhammer Club got underway this week with 13 very keen students eager to find out what it’s all about. Will M and Will I got us underway with a fantastic explanation of what warhammering is all about.

First you need to build your gaming pieces, once assembly and painting got underway you couldn’t hear a pin drop. The focus on painting in such an intricate way was a pleasure to behold.

Over the next few weeks students will complete all the gaming pieces then start to learn about the strategic play needed to be a successful warhammer gamer. Once the finer details of game play have been developed we are planning to create a fabulous gaming board complete with derelict buildings and fake grass. This will be accomplished by developing the students’ skills with the help of the DT department using the CAD and CAM facilities, laser cutting and 3D printing.

So watch this space for regular updates and photos to see the progress. I can’t wait for the 3D printing and teaching our students to use processes that could lead to a career in this new and emerging field.

Request – if anyone has any surplus warhammer equipment or models that are no longer required, we would be grateful to receive any donation with the assurance that they will be put to good use.

Thank you
Mr Taylor
