School Christmas Card Competition
15 December 2020 | G Denison
A robin captures the spirit of Christmas perfectly therefore it is fitting that our winning Christmas card design this year, designed and painted by Hannah in Year 12, captures this iconic bird along with winter berries. Hannah’s work displays her great skill in capturing the Robin’s character and nature through intricate brush work. Initially, Hannah was going to work in pencil but then decided her design would be more realistic in colour. It is no wonder our talented art student has been previously commissioned by friends and family to draw portraits as her skill and raw talent is evident here. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all students who submitted designs which will be displayed on various school forums such as our School Art Instagram : Northallerton_college_art
A Robin can symbolise many aspects of life, but it is at Christmas when we can often find ourselves distant from loved ones or wondering what the New Year will bring, and it is then that we need a source of hope.
