Message from Jan Linsley, Chair of IEB

Message for parents and carers of all students from Jan Linsley, Chair of IEB

I am delighted to be able to tell you that Northallerton School became a member of Areté Learning Trust on September 1st. You will be aware that the trust was selected to sponsor the school after its Special Measures Ofsted judgement. Since then, the trust has been working with the local authority and the IEB to help support the school improvement work and will now take over full responsibility for this.

I can also tell you that Mr Drew handed in his resignation in the summer term. We do appreciate this news may be disappointing or even unsettling for some of you but measures are already in place to ensure that the improvement work to date does not stall. The trust has appointed Mrs Rahn as Head of School and you will hear about other measures the Trust has put in place in an accompanying letter from the CEO.

The Interim Executive Board ceased to exist on the 31st August. However, Areté Learning Trust has asked several members of the IEB to become members of the school’s new local governing body to ensure continuity and so we can continue to support the improvement process.
