FRIENDS OF THE FRIARAGE LOGO COMPETITION WINNERS
17 March 2021 | fnscreative
It is with great pleasure we can announce that four of our students have been successful in the Friends of the Friarage logo competition. Their designs have been chosen from over 100 entries, they have been selected to inspire the redesign of the Friends of the Friarage logo. This is a superb achievement as only ten designs have been selected from local schools.
Head of Art, Miss Allsop was astonished at the quality and range of ideas for the competition. Miss Allsop said“ I am extremely proud that our students designs have been successful for such a fantastic charity. I hope to support and work with the Friends of the Friarage again in the future. The work they do is invaluable to our community and I am sure with the logo redesign the charity will go from strength to strength”.
The charity donates valuable time and fundraises for medical support, as well as running the shop in the hospital. In recent years they have helped to raise thousands of pounds for specialist eye equipment, an MRI scanner, ultrasound technology and other vital equipment and much more.
Most recently the Friends of the Friarage donated £300,000 for a new renal unit which has now opened at the Friarage hospital in Northallerton, the donation funded the unit’s development work and purchase of equipment. The unit, funded by the Friends of the Friarage, has space to dialyse up to 10 patients, reducing the need for them to travel to Middlesbrough or Darlington for dialysis.
Liaison trustee for the Friends of the Friarage Donna Jermyn said: “The dialysis unit is a terrific development for the Friarage and the local population. The Friends have been delighted to support this and I’m sure we’ll continue to take an active interest.”
