British Owl Species Dissection
05 February 2024 | Sarah Riley
During Y9 Natural History lesson, students were learning how to identify British owl species based on their features and behaviour. They also investigated owl diets through an owl pellet dissection, where they discovered bone structures from rodents, moles, shrews and small birds.
Remember, science is all about exploration and discovery. Working in pairs and small groups students started their exciting owl pellet dissection. Guided by Head of Biology Mr Bunn the students were engaged and enthralled whilst identifying structures together. This hands-on activity allowed students to touch the bones and other remains inside the pellet. #science #owls #dissection #biology
