We would ask that parents contact the school by 8.45am to advise us of a student absence.
- The safety of our students is of paramount importance to us and we will follow up a student absence as quickly as possible if we have not heard from you, either by text or telephone.
- When students return to school they must bring a note from their parents giving the dates and reason for their absence.
- Should time off school be required for any reason, a note should be brought from parents beforehand.
- Holidays should only be taken in school holiday times except in exceptional circumstances

Leave of absence during term time
New regulations for leave of absence during term time came into force on 1st September 2013. The new law gives no entitlement to parents to take their children on holiday during term time. Northallerton School & Sixth Form College will only be able to grant leave of absence in exceptional circumstances and this will be at the discretion of the Principal. If you wish to apply for leave of absence during term time, please download a Leave of Absence form below which should be completed and returned to the school office. You will then receive a letter from the school to inform you if the leave can be authorised.
